August 13, 2008, Seattle - EDGE PLAY is the theme for this year’s Northwest LeatherSIR/Leatherboy Contest, to be held at the The Cuff Complex, 1533 13th Avenue, Seattle, on August 30th. Doors open at 6pm, and the evening’s festivities will begin promptly at 7pm. The contest will feature Leathermen, leatherboys and Boot Blacks from the Northwest competing and being judged by a panel of judges comprised of Leathermen and leatherboys from area and national leather communities. These contestants will compete in the categories of Interview, Leather Image & Speech, Physique and Fantasy.

EDGE PLAY is the practice of adding new challenges to the play you and your boy are familiar with. Every challenge is also mentally challenging as it is asking your submissive to reach beyond where they think they can go ... for you ... for them! It may be as simple as progressing from one type of flogger to another harsher one - or to a bullwhip ... from spanking to the introduction of a paddle. It may be as complex as sensory deprivation, combinations of sharp sensations, and trust play.

The Meet-and-Greet will be held on Friday, August 29th, at The Cuff Complex, 1533 13th Ave., Seattle, Washington. The Boot Black Competition will also be held Friday night and will start at 9pm. Private Interviews will be conducted during the day on Saturday, August 30th, at The Cuff Complex. The Timed Technical Skills Assessment for the Boot Black candidates will take place following the interviews - where the boot blacks will demonstrate their talents with high polish and oil tan boots.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters have been hired to provide translation for the deaf community.

The Emcee for this event will be Ms. Lynnda Hale, Ms. Oregon State Leather 2006.
